thanks guys, I ended up pushing the cork in with the handle of a spoon, yes some wine went everywhere, once it finally pushed down, but that's okay plenty of wine left for me tonight! Cheers!

Hey Now...
If it happens again..
just dig out the cork with an knife and gently push
remaining cork into bottle...
then use a strainer to strain out the cork...

Heres an easy way if it happens again. Push the cork into the bottle. Then take a straw and a piece of elastic. Puush the straw in the bottle and bend half of it fown the outside neck. Take the elastic and tighten it around the straw. The cork can't block the wine coming out!!
