It's a very easily transmissable virus. If your dog has it, you need to get it to the vet immediatly. Even with successful treatment, dogs with this illness can be more fragile for years.

Parvo is a virus that is spreads like crazy in young or ill unvaccinated dogs. It causes severe vomiting and diarrhea, so much that an animal often dies from it due to dehydration. If discovered early, your vet can treat it. Its best to begin vaccinating puppies as young as 6-8 weeks to prevent it. Large breeds of dogs tend to get parvo more often than smaller dogs.

It is a viral disease that is highly contagious usually found in puppies more than adult dogs. It can live in the home of an affected pup, the yard, bedding any where or any thing the pup has been in contact with. All these items must be disinfected with bleach before a healthy pup is brought into the space. It is treatable in the early stages but the outcome is not always favorable it has a high mortality rate.

Parvo attacks the intestines of the dog. It is usually picked up by smelling faeces of the other animals. and various other ways. Please take your dog to the vet if you think it has parvo!

The virus is dispersed through the stool into and onto kennels, yards, pens, parks and so forth. This virus remains potentially infective to other dogs for at least a month and apparently for up to 2 years.
Plus, just for consideration:
Other diseases can cause similar symptoms ... such as rat poison, food poisoning, hook worms, and other types of enteritis.
