It could be that she wants the conversation be only for the two of them, maybe they're trying to make things work, not their "thing" but it's about the kid, u know the kid needs child support. Maybe she's scared that if you knew that she's talking to him, you might do something stupid to him. But if you worry too much, talk to her directly, and you'll see, everything will be alright.

If they have a child together, your fiance will always have contact with the ex lover. She may think you are jealous which is why she is hiding it. OR, she may still be in love with him. Who broke up with who? If he ditched her, she may still love a part of him. That doesn't mean she doesn't love you, though. It also doesn't mean she won't love you forever. But, before I married her, I'd tell her not to hide conversations from you...you can handle it. See what that does.

I had a boyfriend who did this same thing. He had a kid with his ex and he would hide their conversations from me. It turned out it was because I always got upset when they talked so he just didn't want to get in a fight. But if you don't get upset and she still hides them, that is weird and I would consider it a red flag.
Maybe you should just ask her why, ask her if she still loves him, etc. If she says no, then you have your answer. If you still don't believe her or trust her, then maybe she is not the right woman. I'm sure you want to be with someone you trust and that you don't have to wonder about who she's talking to behind your back.

That would be a good question to ask her.....either she is not secure enough with you, so she is not comfy being open about the things she needs to discuss with the father of her child...or she has something to hide? I think it would be wise to get those ground rules set before marriage.
