That number is based on an inquiry I made on my Christian buddies. That number is rounded off. Don't focus on that part of the question. I asked a lot of people and pretty much everyone gave me the same answer.

Does every Christian believe he/she is worthy enough of going to heaven? If you are a Christian and are reading this, would you ever be able to tell yourself, "I am going to hell" ? If not, why not?

THIS IS NOT MEANT TO OFFEND CHRISTIANS, I just noticed that pretty much every Christian I know believes he/she will go to heaven.

So being Christian automatically makes you a candidate for heaven? Most Christians don't sin?

This concept of forgiveness puzzles me.

If God will forgive all sins, then who will be punished?

if u make the same survey on muslims, they will say.....i do not know

because in islam, your work makes your fate.....yes, the fate is known by allah , but in the same time your deeds makes your fate...

it is like that if u have a program that sums two numbers.. u know its results, and it will give the correct number as u predicted.

For Allah, he knows every thing, and he knows who will enter the paradise or who will go to the hell..

Christians has altered their religion (which was like islam in origin) and made it much simpler....... they misunderstand the fogiveness an beliefs and they altered them

i hope u understand what i said

i count number on evolution and am Christian. What i trust is that Christ works as a attitude to connecting one to God. I even do not recognize if something else works yet i think it does and that there is not extremely a lot to settle on on between diverse non secular paths on the completed, although particular issues are likely extremely dodgy which incorporates Scientology, although who's familiar with? i imagine there is likely some type of idea of the lifeless in a Platonic experience and that faster or later that idea turns into actualised once again, so that is type of like they're saved contained in the way a record may be saved on a problematical force. To be honest i don't believe of that is totally healthful or powerful to take a position about the afterlife because that is a distraction from doing solid deeds and hazards doing it for some type of advantages.

very true, most christians believe they will go to heaven because they have been saved and all that but thats not true. If your a christian you should be living a clean life not a life full of sin (not everyone is perfect we all make mistakes). Myself being a Christian have sometimes wondered am i leaving a clean life that God would respect. Rememeber because when are saved or ask Jesus to come into your life your asking him to change you completely and help you have a holy life, but people even after this live a bad life. So people need to face reality and re-evalute their whole life and actually see where they are going.

I am not a christian so perhaps my opinion doesn't count, but I have noticed that about christians as well. It's kind of ridiculous if you think about it. Very few christians actually act like it says they are supposed to in the bible. I mean, how many actually love their neighbor and try to help others and generally are nice to people. Christianity has to be one of if not the most hypocritical religion on the face of this planet. They can preach it all day long, but they can't follow it. Oh yes...and one of the most violent religions too!

Don't let such things bother you. Most people seem to have this need to have some kind of religion. When things go wrong then it is gods will.

This notion that god will forgive all sins is another cop out. That way people do not have to face themselves.

Religion is used by a few to control many.

I would think if you will dig a little further, their reason for saying they will go to heaven won't be that they are in a group of people called Christians. It's deeper than the title. I'll explain.

Here we go. Okay. And let me say, your question is not offensive.

I am a Christian. I once was at the point that I did tell myself that I was going to hell. Now I never will again. And I believe I was/am right on both accounts. Here's why: I believe that all people are born with a nature prone to sin, me included. I believe that sin has a price, we see that in our actions and in our systems society has set up to mimic what happens spiritually.

I believe that God will not allow sin to enter heaven, so He made a way for us to get there. That way is this - for one of His triune (three part) beings to become man on earth and to live a life without sin and then take the sin of the entire world upon Himself and suffer the punishment - which was Jesus' death on the cross. My sin, and yours and everyone else's, has been paid for, but we have to agree to let it count for us. (It's like if someone wants to foot your bill at a restaurant but you could still insist on paying yourself.)

So, I, having sinned, chose to accept the payment already made on my behalf so I could go to Heaven. Now, realize, that when Jesus took on my sin, He took on all of it, even the things I haven't done yet. So, if today you were to accept His gift and tomorrow mess up again - it's already paid for. The only thing I would need to do would be to say that I'm sorry for what I did in order to get the conversation lines (so to speak) open again. It's like when you do something against your parents, they don't disown you but you need to work things out to have happiness and such. So, because I made the decision to ask God for this payment to count for me, I will never go back to the point of being eligible for hell.

Here's the thing though. Some people have been raised in a home that is associated with Christianity and because of that, call themselves Christian. That's not how it is though. Christian means Christ (which is yet another name for God) Follower. That's the literal translation. So, technically, the ones who have made the decision and asked God in prayer to let the payment of Jesus count for them are the ones who should call themselves Christians. The rest are relying on the title to get them to Heaven and that just won't work.

Hope this helps!

But the Christian dogma doesn’t say anything about “going to heaven”. There is mention however of “eternal life” in a building that is “coming down from heaven” (you know that structure with the pearly gates and extra thick walls), and that’s where they will live. But they are notorious for twisting and perverting scripture to make it say what they like.

I am a sinner who deserves to go to hell. Having said that, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I will go to heaven. But not because I'm worthy of going to heaven. Because my sins are forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ.

I was wondering what the problem was with the other 5%.
Am I worth of going to heaven? Far from it. I deserve hell.
However God has graciously allowed me to believe in Jesus Christ, who not only changed my life, but has wiped out my sins. He has received me into His family. It's because of Him I expect to go to Heaven, not because of me. Now there is a danger that some people will think just saying a little prayer such as : "Jesus forgive my sins and come into my heart" will actually give them a free ticket to Heaven. No, it must be real faith in the grace of God. Understanding to some extent what God has done for you and accpeting that gratefully. It's a life-changing thing.

If I were to tell myself I was going to hell, I would be lying to myself. Now that I have accepted Jesus and am born again, anything I do wrong is a family matter to God. He has me in his hand and none, not principalities or powers, things present or things to come can take what God has(me) from him.
People call this the doctrine of being sealed by the the Holy Spirit.

God Bless
