It does depend on the weight of the turkey. I have always cooked my turkey between 4 1/2 to 5 hours between 325 & 350 degrees. Also constantly basting it I think helps. Good luck with it, especially if its your first. Happy Thanksgiving!

You will get to talk to a real person and its free.
I cook mine breast down cover with foil until the last 30 to 45 mins. then I turn it breast up uncovered that way I get the golden brown and juicy turkey.
let your turkey set for 20 to 30 mins. before carving - it will slice better.

usually you can buy butterball turkeys with a pop up timer in it, and it will pop up when the turkey is done, usually you should leave it in a bit longer to make sure that it is done all the way

The rule of thumb is 20 minutes per pound. However, stick a fork in it and make sure the juices run clear.

Thirty minutes for each pound - if it's defrosted it. For better taste, I like to cook mine upside down (breast down). The bird doesn't come out looking as pretty but the juices drain down into the breasts making it juicier. Try it.

When the little button pops out.

But if you got one of those rare birds without a button, slice the thickest part of the breast to the bone. If it is clear juice, it is done.
