"Christ" is not a Jewish term. The English word "Christ" actually comes from the Greek word CHRISTOS which means "annointed one".
The Hebrew word for "annointed one" is Moshiach, which in English is "Messiah". Judaism believes that there will be two Messiahs, a Moshiach ben Yosef who will die in a battle against Armillius and then a Moshiach ben David, who will reign a king, bring world peace, cause the animals to not be meat eaters, etc.

Just so you know, "Christ" is not Jesus' last name.
The correct reference is "Jesus the Christ" ... Christ is a term, not a surname .... The Greek title "Christ" is the translation of the Hebrew word Messiah.
So yes ... in answer to your question, many (not just those who follow Judaism) are still waiting for a "Christ" to come and bring the same message that Jesus the "Christ" brought to the people of that time. Other faiths believe that there is always at least one Messiah on the planet, channeling the same message as Jesus did. Sounds fair and equitable to me.
Can you open your mind to that possibility?

The word "Christ" means annointed in oil -- as in becoming king. That is exactly what Jews are awaiting -- the annointed human king of Israel who will bring peace on earth for all humanity -- including Christians, Muslims, atheists, Buddhists, etc. etc. No one is condemned to eternal punishment except the most evil of the evil.
Shalom!

The Jewish people realized that the Messiah came but did not do what God had expected Him to do. So, he was punished and was left hanging on the cross forever. With that, they know someone will come to replace him because God always make true of His promise. If you are still young below 70 and have a good health and will try to keep your mind sane, maybe you could witness it.

Hebrews tell me they expect a different sort of messiah then the Christian son of god version . And many believe in the conspiracy of the Resurrection a good refference could be the book "the passover plot".

modern jews cannot believe in the trinitarian god-man that is espoused by orthodox christianity.
who can blame them?
it's extra-biblical and does not meet the standards of the old testament Christ.

jews are not waiting for a "christ". a "christ", as in the christian religion, is a half-human demigod walking on earth and dying to somehow rid the world of sin, as if somehow G-d couldn't do it himself. i don't think you can get any more pagan than that.

A human who will gather all of us to Israel, rebuild the Temple, and stop all wars. And survive. And rule. And have everyone worship G-d.
