You may get demerits on your driving record, but it shouldn't affect your insurance at all. An accident will. It doesn't go up for me in Canada.

if it was a monir speed violation and it was your first offence in a very long time or ever i would say they may let it slide. with my insurance it's a point system, and i think that would give me 2 points against me, and i think it would raise it about 10.00 a month, paying on a 10 month plan. I have no idea what you wil have to pay since different companies have their own systems. hopefully they have a forgiveness plan in effect and you qualify for it! better luck next time, huh? man that sucks! good luck!!!!!

20 over can cause it to increase quite a bit. Exactly how much would depend on which company and your driving record.
