There is a great deal missing from this article. Whether or not it is life is questionable. That the material is called "cells" indicates that the material is self-reproducing 'autonomously', and I don't know that's been proved yet.
Also, yet to be proved, is the idea that the material is of extraterrestrial origin. There are many new types of life being found on earth almost daily. True most of these are just variations of species, but we are finding life in places never before thought possible.
Without DNA, some other sort of self-replication mechanism needs to be present, and the article made no claims to what form this mechanism takes. I would need to see a great deal more to be convinced of any of the claims made in the article.
That's not to say I couldn't believe, but I just need more information.

Nope, we are actually created by the Planet Janus, a moon of Saturn on July 4, 5000 BC. Of course, some say, we are from Thebe, one of Jupitor's extinct moons which at one time had chlorinated water and instant email. Not to mention that Chanel 5 perfume came from there, too.
Who the heck knows, everyone is guessing, including the scientists, while God is laughing at us.

Interesting story, however the only thing this would achieve if found to have merit, would be to simply move the "origins of life" question from here to another planet or system... It still does not answer the question of the causation of original life.

I like it but it panspermia doesn’t solve the problems of the evolution theory. I would sooner say that extraterrestrials genetically engineered earth life, and from time to time they drop in to modify their creations. Apparently they haven’t intervened for a while, so it’s definitely high time for a boost.

It is accepted that DNA is the evolved form of baceria's genetic code, at least if you're not overly religious.
There will never be an answer that no one can question.

It's a possibility but I believe that we have a connection to aliens that we (or most of us) just haven't opened our eyes to yet; you'll see what I'm talking about later in later questions

I don't believe that we came from space traveling bacteria or monkeys!
But they better be leaving that stuff alone before they mutate what ever it is and it becomes deadly.
