It depends where and how long they have been serving. In NYC they start about $700 a week and finish off about $1,800 a week. In Suffolk County, one county away, cops start about $900 a week and finish about $2,200 a week.

In San Francisco, the starting pay for a 'academy' officer is around 3-4k and after you gradudate from the academy, your pay will jump up to 5-6k a month and your annual income will approximately around 60 to 100k!

I am a police officer in the state of New Mexico in a small town. Like any other career there is more to it than the pay, but in general we don't get payed very much.

this answer is really broad...police officers make an ANNUAL salary...depending on their rank..
are you interested or just curious? if you want to be a police officer..don't get in becuz of the money..do it to save lives...TO SERVE AND PROTECT

not enough to have to put up with most of the morons out there today. a million a week would still be under paid

it depends on where they live and work. i live 2 hrs ouside of chicago and they make 38 a yr but inside chicago they make 62 a yr so it all depends on where u live.
