Do you think that a god would love you better on your knees? It's not meant to offend: I'm genuinely wondering.

As a hard line believer, I think you are making an excellent point. Too many believers are not fully happy because they think they still need to earn God's approval. They get no joy out of their obedience or good works - or at least very little joy. They need to learn that God has already accepted them in Christ, and so for Him they are already "good enough". Now they strive to be more like Christ, and to serve God, by having a closer and closer relationship to Him. That is the secret of Christian joy. Have you ever met people like that? They can live with their imperfections, knowing that God is still their Father.
I get on my knees at times to pray, my body language showing my submission to God - it's the best thing for me! I love him and love to worship Him.

a lot: 'What we as quickly as thought we had we did no longer And what we've should not be the comparable So I call upon the author to describe.' --Nick Cave's 'We call Upon the author' 'in the adventure that your existence is a leaf that the seasons tear off and condemn they are going to bind you with love that's present day and eco-friendly as a stem' --Leonard Cohen's 'Sisters of Mercy' 'yet I inform you, I inform you, I inform you we would desire to deliver away We might desire to objective to discover a clean answer extremely of a manner' --Jim Morrison (greater from Zarathustra than beginning of Tragedy) 'some women human beings look ahead to Jesus, and a few women human beings look ahead to Cain So I hang upon my altar, and that i hoist my awl returned. and that i take the guy who shows me, returned to the place it began, while Jesus became into the honeymoon and Cain became into only the guy.' --Leonard Cohen 'final Years guy' i'm going to stop now. i think of extraordinarily much any Leonard Cohen could make this checklist. Dylan and Kobain have some stable ones too.

I think being on bended knee doesn't always mean "not good enough". To some yes.. it might be that, but to a majority of believers being on bended knee is symbolic of reverence and humility in the presence of a great one.

In order to receive the blessing of the most high, one must bring one's ego and pride down to earth... like when we were children in grade school, we show our favorite teacher as musch respect as we can understand, coz she/he confers upon us knowledge that we want to learn.

I DO agree with you on one point, whether we are spiritual or not, we must learn to accept and embrace the good in us, and not always pummel ourselves to be unworthy gnats... and go through emotional self-abuse... thats serves no one... not ourselves, not the people around us and definitely not our divinity ( God doesn't want a glob of goo )

"From the dissensions among Sects themselves arise necessarily a right of choosing and necessity of deliberating to which we will conform. But if we choose for ourselves, we must allow others to choose also, and so reciprocally, this establishes religious liberty." --Thomas Jefferson: Notes on Religion, 1776. Papers 1:545

Because we actually believe this stuff. We believe Jesus died and rose again proving he was God. So whatever he says must be true. Since we believe it's true we submit to it hoping it'll better our actions and the outcome of our actions. We also want to make Jesus happy with our actions because he made us happy with his actions. Thanks for this Q.

God Bless

on your knees is an admission of humility and worship to God, whom deserves our praise.
we are strive to be like Christ, nowhere in the Bible does it say we totally become like Him. It is the relationship with Jesus that brings us toward holiness.
Without Him, we will strive in vain.

Because it's impossible to outgive, out-do, God. Something I'll never be able to live up to.

Gee, I rarely pray on my knees. I don't know why non-believers think we absolutly have to be on our knees to pray.
