Darlin, we all get nervous. It is part of being unsure and human all at once. Part of my job on a date is to help the other relax, and to keep myself relaxed.
Unless in Scottland, only two humans go on dates, and well, two nervous humans who can relax have the ability to start really getting to know one another and be themselves.

You need to calm down. You don't need to get nervous for everything because it is of no good. Is this your first d8? If so, never mind if you mess up becuase I think everybody messed up things on their first d8. And the thing is that in life we learn from our mistakes and it is never too late to learn from them trust me.
Btw I wish you the best of luck for your d8 and hope that a relationship will be built.

Sure we do! So what i come up with was: just go on dates with guys that you've been out socially with friends! first times can never go well because of the nervousness. Plan the first dates on a social atmosphere and get a proper date only on the 3rd or 4th encounter. For me this way has made me less nervous and enjoy more the proper date.

make sure she picks up the tab before nailing her. in the hotel room make sure you memorize the room, that way it's easier to find the door without turning the light on to make good your escape.

Crack an icebreaker at your own expense:
You "I hate this bit."
Date "What bit?"
You "The bit where I make cheap icebreaker joke so I can stop feeling like a rabbit in headlights. Its truly excrutiating."
