Theres white rice, which is just brown rice with the nutritious hulls removed, brown rice, and wild rice, which is a different scecies of rice altogether. Wild rice, native to North America, is highly nutritious and lower in starch than Asian rice. (The white and brown kind) Wild rice takes longer to cook though, and tastes different. Not bad, just not that starchy taste we're all used to.

There are tons of different rices..the best is determined by your particular taste,,I love long grain and brown rice...without the butter and fat these are very good for you..remember the rice water is an excellent drink.

there is alot of varieties of rice but the healthiest seems to always be brown rice. Read the nutritional labels thoroughly and compare.

there r 2 major kinds of rice (i think so): brown and white rice. brown rice has a low glycemic index (classification of carbohydrate foods according to the effect they have on the level of blood sugars) which may help lower the risk of developing diabetes and heart disease. you should choose this kind of rice if you'r on diet. but, in sports medicine, high glycemic index foods(white rice is in this class) have been used in endurance sports.
