This is simply a "testing of the waters" to see how people might react if the "real announcement" actually was announced. This kind of propaganda is governmental social engineering at its worst.
However the real draft, though, will come, I'm afraid. But when it does, I'll guarantee that the next military draft will involve young women as well. And with the mandatory draft will come a new innovation - - This time, as draftees are given inoculations required by the government, the inoculations will contain small microchips that are barely visible to the naked eye. This way, all people who are of a particular nationality will be readily identifiable and trackable throughout the world.
This information within each unique "fingerprint" of these chips will contain medical information, criminal background information, civil information. Because of their very small size, they will be impossible to remove from the body once injected.

Although I agree that Rangel is doing this for the wrong reasons, I do feel that the reinstatement of the draft, would be a good thing. Several countries in the world have a draft, in which young men and women are required to serve their country in the militarty for a year or two. All people of a certain age are required to serve, with no exceptions, after the time of their service, they are allowed to continue with their lives, with no hindrance. The system is fair to all.

I for one, agree with having the Draft re-instated. I wish the US Military was like over here where I live.....after HS, you either have a Job/get Higher Education with a Job waiting upon Graduation/ OR Join the Military for at least 2-4 years.
I feel that EVERYONE should Serve at least 4 yrs in the Military BEFORE they go to College....then they would know what it is like being Enlisted and not expect things given to them...

Personally I think the draft is a good thing. It makes the young people grow up and take responsibility. It should be applied equally to all with no exception for the influential and wealthy.

I think it is a horrible idea. However, I think he really isn't serious. I think he's just trying to bring out the fact that the military demographics are disproportionate to US society. This is the wrong way to go about it though, in MY opinion.

Absolutely not!
There was no reason for the Iraq war and there is certainly no reason for the draft to be reinstated.
