Okay so, I have another problem with my Yorkie. He's very playful, and one of his favorite games is biting me! He bites my hands and feet! When he first did it, it was like "aw that tickles," now when he does it, it's like "EUGHH YOU'RE GNAWING OFF MY FINGER!!!" it really does hurt. How can I get this guy to stop biting me? Maybe this is just a phase? He is 1 and a half years old, shall he grow out of it? Someone help me!

first do not punish him for biting your fingers and toes...he is conditioned to think they are toys...start replacing your fingers and toes with toys and praise him when he chooses them instead

I had this problem with my Bichonpoo when she was 12 weeks old she is now 15 weeks. Every time she attempted to bite me I firmly (not yelling) told her "no bite" and pulled my hand away. Now she doesn't bite if she tries all I need to do is say "no bite" and she stops. Another thing that works is telling her "switch" and taking my hand or any other thing she may be biting or chewing that she shouldn't out of her mouth and replacing it with something she can chew like a bone or toy. She now understands when I say "switch" and easily gives up whatever is in her mouth.

She won't grow out of this if you don't make her. Another suggestion would be whenever she bites you pull your hand away quickly and say "ow!" sharply and turn away from her. This is how puppies communicate to each other that they're biting too hard, so your dog should understand that. Be firm!

He is testing his limits to see how far he can go. You have to put your foot down and show him who is boss! When he bites you, close his mouth (not to hard and be sure the tounge isn'y in the way) and pop him with a newspaper on the butt! Use a firm loud voice and say NO-NO! Consider buying a teething ring for dogs or a soft flexible toy for dogs and give it to him when he bites you. It will help divert is biting habits. Also think bout obdience training

You need to put a stop to this type of behavior sooner rather than later - obedience classes would be a good start.

Its pretty simple...bite him back....jokes apart dont allow him to bite you....whenever he does so make him realise tht it is wrong to bite....and he wont grow out of it if you do not stop him.
