It's either one or the other- either they aren't aware of how much the noise carries, or they're doing it on purpose.

If they aren't aware, the best solution is an anonymous note, so they aren't embarrassed. Short & simple- "perhaps you aren't aware of how well sound carries here- I don't really know you well enough to be this involved in your love life, do you mind keeping it down?"

If they ARE aware, then the note won't make a difference. Time then to break out the broom, and bang louder than they do. Off-rhythm, of course!

She may not be aware that you can hear her so clearly through the floor.

Maybe make a loud remark about "Gee, I wonder where all that racket is coming from?"

If she doesn't seem to get the point, grab yourself a broom and tap on the ceiling. You can only be so polite in an impolite situation.

that is kinda tough too...umm maybe have some friends over and make some noise. A LOT OF NOISE! if you can hear their racket then they can probably hear yours. hopefully they'd come down, knock on your door and complain. when they do complain tell them something like "i know its these thin walls and cheap flooring, all the sound goes through it, sorry we'll tone it down" if they don't get a hint that you can hear their noise and are extremely bothered that it is S*X sounds call the building administrator and have him call or go to their unit and tell them that their neighbors can hear all the noise. you don't have to do it...

The police won't come except somebody has been injured or you concern they could be. it extremely is a controversy on your community authority's (council) noise nuisance team. you have a precise to get exhilaration from your very own residence in peace.

Put a stereo speaker flat against the ceiling and crack it when they start.
Maybe you should talk to them first, who knows you might get a three some out of it : )
Either they are totally ignorant or they are doing it to show off.

Go knock on her door NOW & ask if she hears any loud noises & something like a squeaky mattress?
She'll get the hint.

bang on the ceiling with a broom handle like they do in the movies, maybe they will take the hint. Maybe they wont even care. That's all I can think of, sorry.

Discuss it with her/him. Perhaps you could leave a note on the door explaining their love life is a bit loud and it's disturbing your studies.
Should that not help, address the Landlord with your concerns.

If she is yelling the whole time, she is clearly faking it. Use this tidbit as you see fit. He might even leave for good.
