I think they are pretty much like most. Some are intelligent and have reached their position by in depth thought. Others are parrots who just like what they have heard and parrot what others have said. Sounds like the average Christian community of which I am a part.

What I think those who have reached their position by in depth thought don't understand is that they each really do believe in an ultimate authority who calls all the shots just like Christians do. The difference is Christians believe that ultimate authority is a diety who created all of us and controls the physical and spiritual world. Atheists believe they are god in that they have decided that their intelligence reigns supreme and they make all the decisions.

In either case there is an ultimate authority. It's just whether the ultimate authority is the individual or God.

If I like or hate some one is not based on their faith. But rather day do because of it. I think I understand them.

There's alot of " atheist " out there I wouldn't call atheists. These are the people that believe in God, but for some reason are against him. You can tell by the questions they ask. They speak about religious aspects as if they were fact.
Then there's Atheist. These are people that don't acknowledge a Higher Power. Religion to them would be like worshiping the tooth fairy. An understandable point of view.

Agnostics are people that I like to call " Force Sensitives " ( that being a Star Wars Jedi reference ) They speak to and about God in a generic sense. For the most part have the capacity of faith without the burden of Dogma. They can be more open to possibilities that more structured religion, but with out the absolutes that can clear a lot of confusion. How ever, in some ways, I think they are closer to God than the rest of us.

I can like someone & be friends with them regardless of their religion, (or lack of thereof), politics, race, color, etc. I like or dislike people on an individual basis, depending on their attitudes or how they respond to me.
No, I am most decidely not an atheist or agnostic.
I admit that I'm at a loss to understand atheism. But then, I've had my own periods of doubt in the past, so I try to be tolerant. And yes, I pray for them.
One final note: I don't think that the hateful anti-religious ranting that I read here sometimes represents a majority of atheists. Some people will just say anything to get a reaction.
Peace.

I sometimes think that atheists and agnostics (including myself) can be a bit hypocritical and narrow minded, exactly what we say some Christians and creationists are.
I strongly think that everyone could be a little more open minded and accepting of other people's religions and beliefs.
I am not dissing anyone in particular I am saying we ALL need to be more understanding of everyone else so we can work together to fix major problems that effect us all. Like global warming, or world peace.

People are what people want to be, trying to pigeon hole them into a category is dangerous and disrespectful.
If someone has a religious experience, and wonders at the wonders of the world, that person will believe in god.
If a scientist gives an explanation of how the wonders exist, it does not mean he does or does not believe in god.
If a person is destitute and despised and can see all the horrors that actually happen in this wonderful world, why should he believe in a god?

Atheists don't believe in God. I don't hate them more than anyone else, nor do I like them more than anyone else. A person acting nice or not nice to me determines whether I like them or hate them, respectively. I don't think what type of person they are is a result of whether or not they believe in God.

Agnostics are those who believe human reasoning cannot prove that God exists. Some agnostics believe in God only through faith, while others simply take the "I don't know whether God exists" route. A person acting nice or not nice to me determines whether I like them or hate them, respectively. I don't think what type of person they are is a result of them believing God might or might not exist.

Basically I hate whoever deserves to be hated and I like whoever is a good person to me. It doesn't matter what religion they are. In fact, I like or hate a person before I even know what religion they are. Sometimes I don't even find out!

Atheist usually have only one thing in common and that is they don't believe God exist. They don't have the common reason behind their atheism. My self i did not became atheist because of Darwin's theory or because that the Holy book is wrong which I came to understand later after atheism. I became atheist originally fro humanitarian reasons out of care for abused animals by religion (sacrifices). So I did not believe in supernatural that requires sacrifices for our sin and believe such thing to be false.

They are very confussed but think they are fine. They make all kinds of negative comments about those who trust in God, especially the Christians.

They have no real knowledge and yet made a decision that there is no God! Most of them made that decision affer spending 2 minutes at some web site that fed them ideas and they decided to believe. Then they have the nerve to be critical of religious faith, they too are living by faith. They have serious problems but refuse to accept that and do some REAL study of the facts because the fear anyone or anything that may make them think about truth and consider TRUTH in science.

Agnostics and Athiests are people just like everyone else. There's good people and bad people. No label can include all of any faith or non faith. I am a christian, and because of my belief, it makes me sad to know that a lot of people are missing out, but as far as the people themselves, they are no different than anyone else. God bless you all!!!

As an atheist I believe most other atheist shouldn't say so strongly that "god" doesn't exist because they aren't 100% sure that they do or don't.

Eventhough I am pretty sure "god" doesn't exist I could careless if other people believe.

Agnostics are good because they don't base their lives on religion or rant about there not being a "god"
