I just received notification of a levy from my employer for $2100 dollars owed on state income tax (my employer screwed up my paperwork when I moved here from another state) I tried making payment arrangements and was unable to keep them due to some unforseen financial issues I have been having. Does anyone know if I call the Levy officer, is it possible that they will work with me and remove the levy? I cannot pay my living expenses if they levy my check. I am not in any way trying to avoid this. I do want to pay it. Any advice would be appreciate. If anyone knows specifics for Arizona, even better.

Is it possible that they might allow me to make other arrangements in lieu to the levy and remove it?

The fact that you tried to make payment arrangements but were unable to keep will not make this any easier. I can't speak specfically for AZ. Unless you can prove that you do not owe the tax I doubt that the levy will be removed. You need to go back and set up new payment arrangements that you can stick to. I understand that other things come up that sometimes make it difficult. BTY, if your employer is responsible for the mistake is it possible for him/her to help you out with this? Explain to the state of AZ why you could not keep the prior arrangements - you need to be completely honest on this point.

If your employer has notified you of the levy, it is a done deal.
Unfortunately, you can only remove it by paying it. Even bankruptcy will not remove tax debts usually. Sorry! There is a percentage that they can take not all of it at once.

this might nicely be a only civil remember. do no longer confuse it with what different posters state approximately chasing criminals during state traces. in case you economic corporation has a branch on your old state, the old state can levy there. in case you have a federal refund, it could get it with an offset. There are different recommendations yet they are cumbersome.
