He is a very outgoing person (he likes giving girls hugs) but whenever he sees me he gives me a hug and he also gives me a really really long hug. He never used to give me hugs before. He also sat with me for the whole time at a school fuction, and he was always laughing at my jokes.
One other complication: hes my friend's ex-boyfriend (she broke up with him a month or two ago)
any advice?

Today, though, he didn't say hi to be when I passed him, and I tried to say hi but he didn't look at me.

Don't do it!
Friends are really important. Dating their exes is not a good idea because it can make things really strange between you. (been there...it's really not nice) and it can be really awkward if you bring him along to something where your friend is too.

kid,
I know you want to believe with your every molecule that you are sepcial to him(we all do, even when you are an old bag like me), but don't take these things too seriously. you are only 15, you would fall in love or be going out with more boys than you would want to remember later on. put more time in your studies, there's really not much benefit analyzing what a boy does or doesn't do with you or without you around. Making really great friends(boys or girls) is truly more important for you.
