My ex- daughter-in-Law is keeping my Grandson away from me. We were very close and I was told that she has tought him to hate me! I saw him the other day and he wouldn't even look at me his Mom was with him, I was always good to his Mom, I even took her side when she divorced my son my Grandson's Dad. Has this happened to any one here? Do you ever want to call or write your Grandma to see if it is true what your Mom says?

Believe me, there will come a day that he will contact you. Sadly, he will be grown probably before that happens. What goes around, comes around..this will come back and bite her in the butt!
And yes, I miss my grandma terribly...wish she was still here.

I'm sorry for you and for him. My grandmother past away 10 years ago and it was a really bad time for me, just when I thought I was getting over it my grandfather past away. That I will never get over. My step-daughter is keeping my grandson from me also and I keep trying to be strong, but the truth is I would bend over backwards for her and my grandson. I just hope that this person realizes that she's not only hurting you by this but also her son. Grandparents are the best people in the world to have and I hope and pray that your ex-daughter-in-law realizes that soon and also that your grandson realizes that he misses you greatly and comes around, after all he is going to be 16, he does have a mind of his own. It's not your fault about any divorce, that should have no baring on you seeing and having a relationship with your grandson. Wishing you well. Keep your chin up. You sound like a great person. Things will work out. Sometimes it just takes a while.

My parents had an ugly divorce and I barely knew either grandma, but one of them never forgot a single birthday and I always got a card. That is more than I can say about my parents. Don't let the parents of the child stand in the way, communicate the best that you can with that child. You might be the only stabilizing element in that childs life.

My grandparents were wonderful and I have the most delightful memories of them. Children need grandparents.
