i filed a N-600 for my child under 18 on Sep 12. Two weeks later i got a reciept and nothing else since then. What is taking so long and how long do i have to wait for the papers to come in?

It will usually take about 2 weeks latest to get the interview date or oathtaking date after the notice date or receipt id received . Depends on your location too . Mine seemed to have been processed faster because I am a military dependent and my underage daughter ( under 18 too ) didn't even need one because she applied for a US passport right away though she was born outside of the US and way before my husband became a citizen .

I am not sure what to tell you but that anything with Immigration takes a really long time! So don't worry. Good luck though.=)
