We're early 20's and in end of college. together about a year. i live w/2 roommtes but am looking for a new place closer to school. he still lives at home w/parents but moving out but the end of the school year b/c of a job and getting a higher degree. we spend about 2-3 nights together now and see each other every day anyhow, so i think living together would be sensible. how should i go about asking him his opinion on this topic?

i posted this question 2 days ago and due to the responses i got i just wanted to add the following? i think we are both financially ready. i am NOT lookin for this to lead to marriage i am WAY to young for that and i do NOT want it. he wants to see me every day, even when i suggest that we spend a day apart b/c i was afraid he would get sick of me. maybe you think a year isn't a very long time but i think we know each other well enough for this to happen. last the reason i ask this is not to be told i am doing the wrong this just how to say. thanks :-)

If the two of you want to move in together, go ahead. What is the worse thing that could happer----after a few months one of you moves out if it does not work. As far as marriage, you both may decide later this is what you want or that it is not. I am a strong believer in living with someone prior to marriage anyway. You may want to consider how the parents are going to take the news of you living together though. I am not the average parent.
Good luck

I have been raised the old fashion way...

I didnt leave my house until the day I got married..

I think we should respect ourselves,,meaning I would not move in with a guy, and play a married role to see what happens..

why would I want to be used and be tried out by anybody, before he can decide whether or not he want to buy the merchandise..

There is an old saying,,,"why buy the cow, if you can have the free milk"

another example is....when you see a car you like and you finally buy it...you drive it for a while, and after a while,,,that car doesnt seen so nice as it once did...

Im not comparing you to a car or a cow, but what Im trying to say...is that you are only 20 years old, and this guy will probably not be your husband in the future...

So dont you think that who ever your husband might be later on, wether him or someone else deserves the privilege of being your first experience in something in your life.

Dont you think that if you live with a man now, you will have an experience that perhaps you will compare to later on?

If you are financially prepared to live on your own...that wonderful, but you should live on your own and be independent, dont depend or rely on anyone but yourself...if you cany make ends meet,,,,get a roommate,,,not a pretend husband.

That is only my opinion

I think it would be a great idea. That's the only way you'll know if it'll work! You can easily see how it would be if u guys were to ever get married or contineu to have a future with each other

Living together isn't a good idea. You're just trying out for the part of marriage. Either get married or don't.

IF you both want it and really believe you'll be happy together that way, you should go for it, definately.
