I have shoulder-length thick, curly hair, and have recently begun embracing my natural hair texture. Since then, I've used cheap hair gel (which I know isn't very good for my hair.) Still, the only way I can wear my hair down is with a hat over it, keeping it from flying all over the place, and total frizz-dom. Does anyone have any brands for gel or mouse products that would weigh down my hair, yet keep it healthy? (Also, I am not exactly swimming in money, so highly priced Salon products are out of the question for me.)

Oh, and is gel or mouse better? (I know that is subject to opinion. I'm just curious what you have to say)

Gel will make your hair "crunchy." I use a combination of a small amount of very light mousse, and then a styling cream (rather than a gel). Bumble and Bumble makes a great cream.

I know, that's diverse matters. yet then i attempted this technique, FIRST- wash hair with a alright shampoo and conditioner. attempt Redken. and don't use the two in a million mix of shampoo and conditioner. they each and each ought to be separate merchandise. 2nd, dry your hair with a silk or cotton fabric. not terry cloths simply by fact the fibres will tear your hair. 0.33, until now than your hair dries thoroughly, word a bypass away-In conditioner or Serum, like Rene Furterer Acanthe Curl improving bypass away-In Fluid. FOURTH, tie your hair loosely in a low ponytail and go away like this in one day. There, I definitely have shared my secret. simply by fact i did this, my hair is comfortable, curly and conceivable the whole day. I verify that that's the main suitable technique ever to maintain thick, curly hair. Please try this, i heavily assure you that's stable. = )

Suave is really good. When i do my hair curly i usually use both and hairspray. It all depends on how tight you want your curls to stay.
