Depending on your location, the skipper, once caught, would most likely have to serve the remaining time in jail that he didn't do on probation.

All depends on the state, actual charge, terms of probation, etc. More than likely he has a misdemeanor warrant for a hit and run/non injury. I imagine the warrant is for between 5-10 thousand. Once booked it depends on his P.O. But, I could see him doing about a week or so. Don't think this warrant will be his eviction from your residence. If arrested you need to make some serious decisions on what you are going to do.

That is largely up to his probation officer and whether the jails are overcrowded. I would tell my friend to turn himself in and tell him that I had to call the police to let them know he contacted me.

After 3 years, I would be surprised if they did - especially with prison overcrowding. If he gave a half-credible offence - and has been in no trouble since, I would say there is a fair chance they would avoid a custodial.

If he is still on probation, he will do time.

Let the policeman catch him so that you might not be misinterpreted to have participated in the apprehension. Maybe, you should call anonymously to hide your identity.
