Let me ask you a question in return. Say the government is giving $1 million per person and all you had to do was sign a form on the day of the announcement. You had to go to the post office and you had to complete the entire form correctly. Would it then be fair for the government to pay the people who complained latter that the government thought it was joking and they should also get the money? Or they filled out a different form? Would it be ok and just for the government to not give people the million who didn't do what was asked?
If that is true why would God reward someone who didn't find the truth out? What if someone truly hated God and whole heartedly believed that Satan was the correct choice? Should God reward that sincere belief just because they believed it?
If God ignores the rules He set up or just let anyone in who believed in something (even if that something was nothing), God is neither just nor good. Therefore, He would not be God then.

No it is not reasonable. No one goes to the Father except through Jesus. An Atheist has rejected God. An Agnostic isn't sure there is a God. There really is plenty of reason to believe in God though. Atheists are the worst though because they pretend that they are sooo smart but, if they were really smart they would believe and go to Church just in case there was a God because when they die this is a position that is much better than rejecting God altogether and dieing and finding out you were wrong.

That is a good question.
I would say that it is possible for an atheist to go to heaven.
If that is the case, then what he rejects is what he thinks is God, not the true God.
For example, he may think that the concept "God" is an old man in the sky, and rightfully rejects that.
Yet deep in his soul, he may love the good and the true for their own sakes, thus he accepts God without a conscious explicit awareness of what he is accepting (and he really is accepting Jesus because Jesus is the infinite good and true).
On the other hand, the Christian may go to hell, because although he accepts what he thinks as the God of the Bible, he is only accepting a God of his own making, who approves of his meanness and narrowness, while having no true charity in his soul, and having a refined hatred of the good and the true in his heart.
So born again Christians cannot be too sure of themselves. They better make a good examination of their heart to try to determine the purity of their intentions.
We can so easily fall into a false estimate of God's favor of us, while falsely judging other people.

Let me say this. if you are searching for truth, you will find christianity is the truth, no questions about it. But....atheist don't believe in God. Therefore they don't fall under the same category as people who never heard of him. They made a choice to not believe in him. But who am I to judge someone's heart. I hope that as many atheists as possible are in heaven. Although..they wouldn't be atheists anymore.

The part where you put 'never come across any rational reason to believe', well that right there would keep the atheist out of Heaven. I never presumed atheist hated God, they just don't believe He exist.

People who have never had Christianity reach their culture are not atheist, just uninformed. Romans 1:18ff clearly teaches that God makes Himself known to all mankind. God is fair, but just.
Atheist consciously choose to reject God. There is a great difference.

Heaven is where God is and hell is where God isn't. Earth is where man is.
Atheist ("person without God") definitely does not want to be where God is.
God, not man, judges.
One more remark: The difference between an atheist and an theist is one believes the opposite as the other.

We don't know what People (Anybody) do when they are Alone, by Themselves.
If you EVER Asked Jesus to Save you, and Meant it, Jesus Heard your Prayer. Even if you Really Don't Know What to Believe.
Or just Asked HIM if you got Scared for a Moment of Time.
Jesus HEARD you.
Guess What?
ALL Who Call on the Name of the Lord (Jesus) WILL BE SAVED!
Now, Ain't That Refreshing?
Good to Know, Right?
GOD Bless!
Ditto............................................
Smith WigglesWorth (Evangelist of GOD in Early Times, had a Friend who Helped in the his Tent Revivals, so on, for Years. He Wasn't SAVED.
Smith WigglesWorth died First. Went to Heaven.
Smith's Friend got Saved on his Death Bed. What a Story. Smiths Friend saw Miracle after Miracle, saw People get Saved etc.. Wasn't a Believer till he Faced Death.
I Don't Ever give up on Someone Getting Saved, no matter How they Act or Talk. I never Take my Faith "Off-Line" for Anyone.
Jesus Dosen't Either!
Hope this helps.

I have always said in the end God will look into everyone's heart to see what is truly there. Even those who profess to be a true Christian may not be so of the heart. God is the Judge in the end.

The devil believe that there is a God but that does not save him. There is only one was to get into God's heaven and that is by believe and trusting that the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins and that when He was buried He took your sins away and He rose again the third day for your justification. 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Romans 4: 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
