My thought is that I, like so many other are getting tired of hearing about that stupid ad.

There is no irony in advertising. It is all about getting the word out to people who might listen.
I have neither read the book nor seen the movie, so I have no opinion about either.
I choose to keep away from works of fiction that cause mass-hysterical responses. And, for the record, I choose not to click on any advertisements. For anything. Ever. If they had any sense of irony about them at all, perhaps I would. But the plain, simple, and base fact is that they want money and will do anything to get it, so I simply pay them no mind. The solution is not to participate.

You said it a shameful book. This is a religion and spiritual site not an all Christian site, wish we did have one.

It is an excellent work of fiction. The author very cleverly mixed up some factual things with his story but it nonetheless fiction.
The only people I can think of who would consider this book shameful or perhaps blasphemous in any way are people who are very insecure in their faith

Shameful? I don't follow your train of thought. Are you saying because you don't believe the premise of the book/movie, then it doesn't belong in religion and spirituality? That's so limited! (And typical of those who think their way is the only way).
Broaden your horizons, or just live and let live.

Even though the da Vinci Code is fiction it has a religious overtone.
So, naturally.

Did not read the book, but the movie was great. I loved it. I don't have any problem with yahoo advertising it.
What is the problem people have with this movie? It is fiction.

Where should it be, in Beauty and Style, Business and Finance, Dining out -- that'd be a great place for it!

Its a work of fiction produced to make money. Nothing special about it. Long after it is forgotten the truth will remain.

Yes, it's amusing.
The book is fiction. Fun read, but not believable.
