No. He didn't run for office therefore he wasn't elected.
Not controlled, but definitely influenced. Theists have been striving for centuries to rewrite the consitution so it supports a christian theocracy. You don't have to look very hard to discover why theocracy is a really bad idea.

What basis do you have to claim such a "right"? That is just nonsense. Marriage is by definition between a man and a woman. This has been the societal understanding since before written history. You can't just come along and say this too, anymore than the old cliche of putting a round peg in a square whole (or is it the other way?). Marriage is at the foundation of the family - and procreation. Only a man and a woman are designed and capable of doing this. That has been plain to see for thousands of years, religions have also seen this truth, including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, just to name a few.

You write as if Christians are the only one's shaking a finger at gays. Other religions do too. Again, I believe a marriage is bt. one man and one woman. I do not see a problem with civil unions/domestic partnerships for truly commited gay couples...due to tax issues, health, property, legal rights etc etc.

excuse me wasn't your country founded by ultra relgious puritans of course its run by religion fanaticism but not by religion there is a massive difference just because Jesus founded a religious philosphy 2000+ years ago doesn't make him in any way responsible for the idiocy and narrow mindness that is shown by christians today especially the evangelicals in the United States

The last election was a sign from the American people that religion does not belong in our laws. Hopefully gay marriage will be approved very soon.

Yes, to a degree. Fortunately there are watchdog groups out there that keep them from completely taking over.
