i have a fatty liver, painful for many years now,why is there only over the counter med to help?

i live in southamerica is there anything to help, its really afecting my way of life

Again, Fatty liver shouldn't be painful. you might have a parasitic infection living in South America. Usually alcohol causes fatty liver. But one more thought that it could be your gallbladder, but I don't know what other signs or symptoms your having.
