i just too k this new job thing...and i called off 7 out of the first 9 days and they fired me. they never told me nuthin about absence policy.

but my son had a bad splinter...

what is wrong with these corporate whores who demand perfection??

that's 7 out of 9 days you didn't do any work, no matter the absence policy. sorry i don't think you've got a complaint here.

You would've gotten fired if you called off in the first two weeks of a job. Most jobs only allow you to miss #2 days in the first 90 days. I'm sure there was some sort of warning before they finally fired you.

You're first 90 days should be a probation period. But yes you can still be fired. Did you have a doctor's note after the 3rd day? Did you call every day that you were not going to be present?

They should know that a bad splinter takes about a week to get out. I'd get a lawyer.
