Limewire itself is legal, i use it constantly, its just that certain songs etc are not licensed and it's illegal to download those.. Its a great social downloading site.. I believe in sharing, especially since music is going downhill these days... why should we pay for the older stuff, when they're already millionaires and set for life... and i do think its fine for those without enough money to use it...

For 99 cents in china, you can buy a dvd, or full cd even.. Its so expensive in the rest of the world, its all power realism, getting more power and money...

As far as I am concern, if the program is legal, I should be allowed to download anything which is on it.

I actually paid for the Pro version of the program.
So don't tell me now that it is illegal to use it.

In my book, if you want to stop piracy
Stop the manufacturers of hardware and software from selling their stuff and make millions out of it.

Don't punish the user for buying and using it.
If we pay for something, we are entitle to use it for the purpose of what it was made for.

What else would you do with a DVD burner but burn DVDs?
And what is the most common thing on DVDs?
Movies... Right?

Edit:
Actually under the actual law, you won't be prosecuted for downloading songs with Limewire.
But you could get prosecuted if you let other people upload your songs from your computer while using Limewire.

In other words, downloading is OK.
Uploading is not.

well, if you can download but you don't have to pay money for it, then I think it is illegal. My friend told me his neighbor was caught downloading stuff without paying, but I don't know through what program his neighbor was downloading. If you really need to get some songs, there is always iTunes, it costs 0.99 cents a song and there are prepaid cards available at most stores. I wouldn't take the chance if I were you.

it depends on the artist. some hate, some don't. if you are having trouble with the morality, buying used CDs at a store doesn't give any money to the people who make the CDs...
