What is the warrant for? Is it something that he'll get prison time for like a robbery or murder? Does he have a felony record? Not just arrests. Convictions. The reason I ask if for your safety. The problem is that if the warrant is for some small little thing, he may get out rather quickly either on bail or because the jail is overcrowded and the jail will kick him out rather quickly. If that occurs and he knows it was you, what's he going to do? Are the threats idle? Or can he really do something? I mean, if he gets out of jail in a few days, where is he going to go? Back to your place. Right?
If you really want this guy out of your life, you need to put yourself in a safe place. Move to another apartment. Get a retraining order. One more thing: If the threat he made put you in fear of your life and he meant to do just that, this is a felony in many states (including California where it is a strike as well). File a complaint and get him arrested for the threat. Ultimately, you need to get out of this situation, but don't expect the cops and the justice system to do everything for you. He'll be back out in no time. If you are really scared, take action now.

As long as you stay safe... what is the warrant for? If it's not anything really serious, he'll be able to have a bail hearing and get out of jail in a few days, and probably back home! Then what do you do?
If he is threatening you call the police about that, not the warrant, when they show up and arrest him for the threats they'll pop the warrant and it'll take care of itself. Then get a restraining order while he's in jail. Just cover your ***, that's all, I don't want to see you get hurt here.

What is his warrant for? I would take that into consideration. Is it a Misdemeanor/Felony? Threats alone are not necessarily a crime.
Really depends, but if I was called out to your house and he had a traffic warrant, I would cite and release him and tell you to grow up or move out.

Dude, what are you thinking? You should contact a local law enforcement angency - otherwise you'll be in trouble too, hiding a criminal will make you a criminal too - Turn him in doesn't make you a jerk, it's something that you should be doing for yourself as well as for your room-mate.

You have the 3 R's to choose from: remain, run, or rat on him. Nobody is in a better position to decide than you. Best of luck.

If he threatened you then there's no reason for you to help out a criminal even more.
