There are a few Mountain Ranges in that area. To the South is the Santa Ana range and that is most likely what you drove through. North and east would be the San Gabriels and North and North West be the Santa Monica Range.

There are no mountains by Disneyland. You were probably near Magic Mountain. Those are the Santa Monica range.

The Sierra Mountains run for many miles from north of LA down through Orange county ---(where you saw some of them, in Anaheim, to the East of Disneyland)......and beyond......

If you were by Disneyland then it was the Matterhorn. ;-) (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Wouldn't it be the Sierra Nevada range, or is that more north of LA?
