The only people who matter in this situation are the two of you. It should not matter what other people think, unless you need the opinion of others to have bearing on your life. Enjoy each other, and your relationship and be happy.

it doesn't even matter if he/she isn't hot, let alone what other people think about his/her appearance...if you really love him/her, well then obviously the appearance can't be that much of a problem can it? you shouldn't even care even if YOU don't think your mate is hot. it's nice, but it's not necessary.
and if you DO think your mate is hot, well then that's just a plus! :D

No you should never listen to what other people say. The things that matter most are your feelings and your thoughts for your partner. If you feel good with your partner and have good thoughts on your partner, then keep up your relationship and don't break up because of what others think. It may be jealousy for saying such things.
