Well it depends on what you mean by 'dropping out.'

You can finish all the legally required courses early. Then if you quit going to school, you might not be able to go through a graduation ceremony. You can get your diploma though. You don't need to drop out in order to finish your courses early. You can do courses in Summer term and be legally finished.

;-D It will be beneficial to you to complete the process and develop social skills and relationships that can last a lifetime.

There are many ways to accomplish this. The easiest way is to take some independent/distance learning courses and meet your local school's graduation requirements.

Set up a meeting with your guidance counselor and explain what you would like to do. Ask her for your transcripts and a list of requirments. Figure out with her, what classes you would need to take to finish early. If the counselor is not cooperative, go to the Vice principal or principal.

BYU offers many high school courses at a reasonable price and they are accredited.

All that said, make sure that you are doing this for a good reason and have a plan if you finish early.

Contact me if you wish to discuss this further. Good luck.

Good luck.

When I was in school (in the 90s) you had to take 4 years of English, and you could NOT take it early (like over the summer). So you had to go all 4 years. But they had programs where you could show up just to take your 1 class, then leave to go wherever- college, a job, etc. Who knows how it is now, though.

You can take advanced placement tests and/or take local college courses in lieu of high school counterparts (if your school and local college have an interlocal agreement).

Talk to your guidance counselor to see how many credits and classes you need to graduate. (S)he will have insight as to how early you can graduate. typically, you need a certain number of English, math, and other classes, in addition to a total credit count.
