If my friend has a warrant out for his arrest, and the police were to somehow find out, would he be able to be arrested in the town we live in now or would he have to be in the city where the warrant was given.

In the USA a state issued warrant is good in all 50 states. Now getting him back to the jurisdiction where the offense took place is a different story.

Anywhere my friend. But, some states won't extradite depending on the charge. Once arrested he would be taken to the arresting agencies county jail where he would be transferred to the County where the warrant originated.

He can be arrested in the town he`s in now and be transported back for the warrant. Doesnt matter where you live.
