My significant other and I rarely drink. I just never picked it up in HS and college. I can understand having a couple of drinks to be sociable. However, I ran into someone who seems to be a heavy drinker, and who said that drinking can replace eating. What's the deal? Is it worth adopting a heavy drinking habit. Other than cirrosis of the liver hare at the side effects of heavy consumption of alcohol.

Drinking alcohol makes you less inhibited. You talk more. You want to open up. You may say some innapropriate things. You may find yourself laughing more. You find yourself doing things you would ordinarily not do. You may start to feel really good. Then, you may wake up in the morning with a headache, dehydrated and feeling ill. So, thats when you want to take great pains to avoid a hangover. Try these tips to avoid a hangover:

Well, you've already mentioned cirrhosis, which is very serious. There are also various diseases that stem from malnutrition. When you replace food, which has nutrients vital to the body, with alcohol, then your body does not get the nutrients it needs. You may be consuming enought calories, but will not get what your body needs. Then there is the damage to your kidneys and heart that come from chronic alcohol abuse.

Needless to say, not a good idea. Stick with food and occasional alcohol. ;)

Diarreah, stinky breath, embarrasment, loss of family and friends, loss of valuable things, blacking out and not knowing nothing of where you were or what you may have done, everything important in life just seems to melt away and when your an alcoholic you dont really see it and dont even care.
