An Amazon, depending on how their lifestyle is, should be able to live a good 70-80 years. I know there are a few cases of them making it to their 90's but it's rare. I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear but... You never know, with a good diet and healthy environment, your bird could live well in to his 90's! Just remember he's had a long, happy life and you can't always change life's natural course. Good luck to you and your life-long companion.

We had two of them but Sam the male got outside and flew away with some crows. That was clost to 20 years ago. My mom's Amazon Poly is about 33 years old and still going. she has turned out to be a mean bird since Sam flew the coup.

The oldest known parrot died last year at the age of 1021.
Durring its lifetime it was a mascott at the battle of hastings, sat on Lord Nelsons shoulder at trafalgar and was pulled from a hat while riding a bike by tommy cooper.
