If you have a vaporizer, go plug it in. The humidity will help soothe your throat.
You can also gargle with warm salt water & take some Motrin or aspirin.
Other stuff like Cloraseptic Spray or Sucrets Lozenges help numb the pain, too.

Weed? Okay, maybe, but I've got a natural cure that doesn't place you in the bad part of town. How about honey? Its a natural antiseptic and an antibiotic. It works by completely taking the water out of germs. Now, it burns like whiskey when you down a tablespoon of raw honey on a sore throat. Two tablespoons as many times a day as you can stand, and the sore throat has no germs preying on it. I like following the first 2 tablespoons with tea and honey or coffee and honey, myself. I find this cheaper than going to the doctor twice a year.

This is what my husband and I do to help soothe a sore throat.
Alternate the following every 30 minutes:
Gargle with warm salt water
Gargle with a couple aspirin dissolved in warm water
Choloraseptic Spray is good to numb the pain associated with a sore throat.
Halls Cough Drops with the medicine center also provides good relief.
Hope this helps a bit.

Try drinking orange juice. It's going to hurt, but the acid in orange juice kills bacteria that might be causing your sore throat. Every time I get one my husband pours the stuff into me. It really helps! Not only that, but you're also getting lots of vitamin C, which will help you feel better.

Suck on some sugar free lozenges as you try to fall asleep. This will increase your saliva flow and keep your throat moist and less painful. Difflam is good...it has local anaesthetics to numb your throat. Make sure your nose is not block, otherwise you will tend to breath thru your mouth, making it drier and more painful.

They taste kind of bad, but Zinc lozenges really help. Also, we have an old family remedy making a hot honey and lemon drink, although I do not have the recipe on hand.
