This is NOT true. Actually, it is good if you drink water after drinking alcohol.
The splitting headache you get when you are hungover is mostly caused by dehydration.
When you drink, the alcohol replaces the water in your blood. When it exits your system, and you havent drinken any water since drinking the alcohol, your body takes the water that cushions your brain to replace the water in your blood. so what hurts is that your brain isnt as cushioned as it normally is.
I know that sounds weird, but its actually true. So its best to stay awake and drink water while sobering up, rather than just crashing. it really helps a lot!
i hope this is helpful!

Myth - if you get sick, it has nothing to do with the water - it is probably just your body responding automatically (like a mechanism to avoid further alcohol consumption). If you vomit all of the water up, eat a few crackers if you can and then try to drink more water. Alcohol dehydrates, so your body actually needs the water to make the sick feeling go away. Good luck!

You need to drink water after a night of heavy drinking to avoid dehydration unless you feel that it might make you vomit. Alcohol is very dehydrating. But, vomiting is more dehydrating. It is best to avoid heavy drinking. It is very bad for the organs and can lead to alcoholism. There are only a few things in life worse than chronic alcoholism.
If you are drinking to get drunk: You have a problem. Know when to quit and drink plenty of other liquids with it.

Don't down a big glass without breathing, that would make you sick even if sober!!!
Water is reccomended because alcohol will cause dehydration. Drinking water will help "dilute" the alcohol and may help prevent a headache!

Nope - drink the water - as much as possible add 2 x Nurofen Plus and have a meat pie and chocolate milk for breakfast, followed by a body bash in the surf if possible.
Seriously - drink the water to rehydrate your body

Alcohol acts as a diuretic, as does coffee, and depletes your body of water,( we are basically a high percentage of water.) So the more that you replenish your body with the lost fluid, the better that your body is able to re-cover.. So No it is NOT true

Drink the water... Lots of the symptoms we attribute to being hung over are actually just dehydration.

It probably will make you sick if you have a hangover but, keep drinking that water. You need it. You are dehydrated.
