ladies if you and i had a date tonight what could i really expect from you?

you could expect me to ask who you are and why we have a date though we have never met. After that was satisfactorily answered I'd probably ask you about yourself, and make interesting conversation.

You really wanna know? I mean, really? Well . . .

We would go to a reasonably nice restaurant. If you made any move to open my door or pull out my chair, or anything along those lines, I would look at you with thinly veiled scorn. Conversation would begin with an exchange of personal information. I would order tortellini and a Diet Coke, and I'd eat it, too. After we both ordered, I would ask the server to charge the meals to two separate bills. If you tried to foot the entire bill yourself, I would coldly tell you that you would be paying for yourself only. Throughout dinner, I would bring up the news of the day and some political issues, and I would expect you to be able to discuss it intelligently. When the meal is over, we would drive home (still talking — by now we're just exchanging anecdotes). If everything went according to protocol, I would kiss you on the cheek when we came to my house. I would then get out of the car and go home — alone.
