No, a religion is a myth that never had any believers until the Christians came along.

while many myths are based off of ancient religious figures (what better place to find stories about great deeds and the ways of the world?) not all were. There are some now who are falling back on ancient religions, I've definately heard of people following ancient Roman gods. Myths are basically old stories, likely they were folkstories at one time, ours we call faerie tales. Hundreds of years from now they could turn into myths.

That is as good of a definition as any I have seen. It could also be that a myth is a religion that never had any believers.

No, there are myths in my own religion, and I of course believe in my religion. I see the myths as stories which convey deep spiritual truths by means of metaphor.
