The best I can tell you is to find out what unit he was in ad do a search for it. I found a reunion for the ship my Dad was on and called them up and the one guy I talked with invited me to it. I was able to talk to several who knew him and learned a few things that he would never really talk about.

Try this site - they have a find a buddy section it is a Military Locator for veterans, active-duty personnel, and reservists you served with.

I would start with the service he was in like www.army.mil, or the Army times
