Not a resistance, but a higher tolerance.
Just like drugs, the more you do over a period of time the more you need to get you to the desired state.
Just a higher tolerance level, not resistant.

People do develop a tolerance to alcohol, as well as many other drugs. Over time, and with repeated use, your body gets used to the effects of the drug and starts to consider it as normal. You have to drink more and more to get the same effect. This does NOT mean you are not legally intoxicated. In a state with a .08 limit, it takes my 190 pound frame about 2 beers to hit that mark. Even though I can't feel the effects yet, I am still legally drunk. I won't drink more than 1 beer when I go out because of this. Be careful...

Over time, people can develop a tolerance to alcohol and other drugs (i.e. pain medication, sleeping pills, etc). A tolerance is diagnosed when you require more of a substance to obtain the effects. There are many things which could affect your tolerance to alcohol. For example, excessive alcohol use, the amount of food you ate during the day, your bady's metabloism, how much water you drank, etc.

Yes they do. They longer between drinking days, the less resistance you have. Tolerance depends on other factors too, like body mass, ans metabolism. Alcoholics can easily consume a fifth or more of spirits and still remain functional enough to keep jobs.

No- they develop a tolerance that is how alcoholism develops - the more it take to achieve the buzz the more you consume until all you want is the buzz and you forget your real life. Try drinking 8oz of water between alcoholic drinks to put you back on kilter. Good Luck!

You may be able to hold your liquor really well. I have known some people that have drunk more than one case of beer and never had a problem. As for me, I am gone after the first beer.

Well, your body learns how to process the alcohol quicker. Or, you may have had a big meal before you drank.

you get to where you can drink a little more at times and that depends on your body conditions at the time like did you eat before you drink but i have never seen anyone develop a resistance to it. just look at the alcoholics.
