That's just it. The universe exists on its own, as a dynamic, apathetic whole. We're just a circumstance, and there really is no redeeming value to all of it. The meaning of life has jack sh-- to do with what us little insects down here on Earth think.

We -are- accidental, not even an afterthought, just a ripple effect of other things going on. The only purpose is the one that we make for ourselves. Besides, the cosmos as a whole is quasi-sentient, and as we reach enlightenment so too will the rest of reality.

No wonder reality sucks so much.

True objective meaning is impossible to achieve from within a human skull.

Subjective does not mean "meaningless." It means that all meaning is contingent--that there is no Absolute. When a jury says "guilty," they mean that the defendant has been found, under a certain set of procedural rules, to fit the qualities that a certain law (in a certain political system) defines as unacceptable. This claim of guilt is entirely contingent upon the person, the lawyers, the legal system, the current interpretation of the law (precedent), etc. And yet, within all of those contexts, the allocation of the name "guilty" to the defendant has material consequences for him/her; i.e., the appelation still has "meaning"--just not an eternal, Absolute meaning.

your question points to Tantrism to a large extent. anyway, Spirituality and sensuality are different, representing truth and beauty respectively, when separated, truth provides salvation, a sense of non-attachment to various desires of the physical world and beauty provides surrender to all sensual desires But when spirituality and sensuality undergo an union, they provide bliss, divine bliss. truth and beauty together deliver a union with the universal Spirit. In short, this union provides a controlled mind and body along with a liberated soul, which eventually merges with the divine(Spirit) The best example would be a Yogini (not a Dakini). Yoginis, manifestations of Shakti, celebrate the union of spirituality and sensuality, celebrate the union of Shakti and Shiva. celebrate the union of souls which merges into the Spirit. Hence my coming into the physical is nothing but an Ascent. But If this union of spirituality and sensuality, gives any sort of pleasure except for the bliss of merging into the divine and becoming One with it,my coming would lead to a descent. and there is one thing i would like to mention Spirit doesn't have any desire, we(souls) have. The Universal Spirit absorbs us, All desires, All forms. ~

The purpose, meaning, and value that I have in my life, created by me and those that I love, is enough for me. I don't need some "reward system" to make me appreciate my life or to contribute in whatever small way possible to the greater good.

Yep. That's why it can't be true. Why are there laws if there are no morals, and such? I mean why do we know not to lie or not to kill? Because God wrote it in our hearts the things of the law. read Romans 2:14. It explains why we have morals. Although some of our morals are lost similarly to being seared, once that happens we no longer care about the law and then we sin.
