The Mayans didn't say it would end but that it would be a time of great change.
This is the fourth time and the last according to the Mayans, the one before being the flood.

"World without end, Amen."
However, there could be great changes in the world order of things.
I suppose 2012 might be as likely as most any other year.
If the Rapture is going to occur and then 7 years of Tribulation, and this is 2006 that would go to at least 2013. We can not set dates. There were groups, in the 1840's I think it was, who set dates.
And more recently there was the book of "88 Reasons Why Christ Must Return In 1988". The next year I saw the revised booklet "89 Reasons Why Christ Must Return in 1989".
Jesus has promised that He shall return. The Angel Gabriel promised to Mary that the Lord God will give unto Jesus the Throne of His ancestor David.
This year?
Next year?
The year 2012?
Whenever He is ready!!!

I believe the world will end when all of God's people finally turn to Him for salvation. The Bible says in 2 Peter 3:10 "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, .." And in Acts 1:7 "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in his own authority." Don't worry - be ready.

I don't believe that anyone knows if and when the world, i.e. earth, will end except God Almighty Whom I believe to be The Creator of everything in existence.
However, I do believe that when one physically dies in this world, it is the end of the world for whomever it is that died.
Therefore, everyone that dies in the year 2012; it will be the end of the world for them.

YES! "SOMETHING" *IS* going to happen in December of 2012. Not only does this date show up in the Mayan calendar and Bible, but a LOT of other documents and word of mouth stories (like from the Hopi of the north east part of Arizona and some remote tribe in Africa) on each and every continent on this Earth.
This is a very complex subject. I suggest that instead of asking here ;) that you do some RESEARCH of your OWN to find MORE CREDIBLE sources of information. Here's a START:
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2005-18,GGLD:en&q=2012

The Mayan culture ended a long time ago, so I'd put a lot of stock in what they had to say, and I can't recall any specific dates mentioned in the bible. I sure hope that helps, and I'll talk to you again in 2013.

The world will end, when HE says so. Not the history channel.
When it happens, know one will have advance notice.
So don't bother looking for 2012. I myself, think it will happen
sooner....

Silvia Browne said that she believes this world has about 95 more years to go so, I wouldn't worry about it right now.

Only God knows when the Great Tribulation will come, so I don't believe what the history channel just claimed.
