I like mine broiled with garlic and onions. You can also pan fry, my mother makes a killer pan fried steak. So yummy! Grilling is also great.

Cooking steak is dependent on the cut of steak and how you like it. Most steaks can be grilled easily with only a dry rub or seasoning. Montreal Steak seasoning is my favorite. The rule I would give you is this...the more fat, the less seasoning you need. For flat iron steaks or steaks from an inexpensive store will need a citrus marinade before cooking. Tenderizing or salting steaks is highly discouraged. Any salt or cuts you make in the steak reduce the juices that will be available. In that light, never use a fork to turn the meat...use tongs or spatula. When you cook your steak, for a 1 inch steak, it should take about 6-10 min on each side for medium. You should only flip the meat once and only once. For a simple trick cook one side until the blood beads up and then flip until desired doneness. Ribeye with Montreal seasoning on a hot grill is the best for me.

It depends on the type of steak. Most are good on the grill or in the broiler. You can pan-fry them, as well. Some steaks, like round steak, are rather tough and turn out better if you tenderize them with a meat tenderizing mallet first. One of the things I like to do with broiled steak is to add crumbled bleu cheese to the top during the last few minutes of broiling, so the cheese is slightly melted. Or...for minute steaks, you can create a steak sandwich by pan-frying the steak and serving them with Texas garlic toast. A good recipe for round steak is to lightly coat the tenderized steaks with flour, brown both sides in a frying pan, and arrange the steaks in a glass cake pan. Cover the steaks with one can of whole tomatoes, chopped and including the juice, and one medium white onion sliced into rings. Bake covered at 350 degrees for an hour, remove lid and bake for 15 minutes more. Serve with Mashed Potatoes. Steak turns out very tender and juicy, and the tomatos and onions make a wonderful gravy for the potatoes!! Bon Appetite!!

steak is a highly versital meat, but mainly known for being tough on the mouth.
I myself enjoy putting a dry rub on it and letting it work its flavor in for a few hours, then grilling it.
Also you can BBQ it as sr\tated by another awnser'er.
There are many many cook web sites out there and many shows.
All that anything needs in cooking is a little thaught and creativty.
my rubs mainly consist of dried rosemarry basil red peper flakes and gardlic powder.
this is a very nice rub for a savery steak i would suggest.
hope this helps, from a fellow cook.

Marinade first!
Mix a bit of olive oil, vinegar, crushed garlic, some lemon or lime juice, black pepper, maybe some sage and thyme. Let the meat soak that up for 24 hours or more. Then cook in your usual way: grill, broil, or pan fry.
