Golf was invented by The Scottish in the 15th century. The rumor that the Chinese invented golf originated in the Inquirer. Need I say more?

depends on which gulf, i think the mexican invented the gulf of mexico, some arabs created the gulf in middle east. as for golf, they recently discovered some tools similar to golf clubs which dated back long before the scottish discovered it, but one thing for sure scottish make it popular and introduced it to the world. i think soccer was re-invented by Ronaldinho of Brazil

Although I have heard rumors of a news article circutlating that states recently archeologist found paintings depicting golf being played in china several thousand years ago I have not been able to verify it. Historically, Scotland has the claim for being the home of golf.
