My mom said back in the day they used irons, you know the thing you use to take wrinkles out of your clothes. Strange huh, but she said just place it on the ironing board and have your friend iron it out. Don't set it to high and don't try it by yourself.

An iron for clothes will work but I warn you it can damage your hair and you can also burn yourself. It doesn't seem the make the hair as silky smooth either and it will not have the same "affect". However, it should help help and be better than nothing. When I tried this method I got a burn on my neck though and it left a mark for a week or so. Just thought I would let you know. Do not use the highest setting and make sure your hair is dry first. This part is very important since if you do have wet hair you don't want to see what could happen. Use dry dry hair! If the iron has a place to make steam (you put water into the iron) then do that since it will help to prevent your hair from drying out as much. I also know that some people can blow dry their hair straight (like people said above)but it has never worked for me because of my hair type.

Get a home perm kit and apply the chemicals but DONT use the curlers. It will straighten out curls. Leave it in about 30 minutes.
If you just have frizzy hair get a THICK TOWEL and use a iron on a low setting. Its not the best for your hair but it will make it straight. Dont do this everyday, you will fry your hair but 2 or 3 times a week wont hurt you. I know b/c I was doing this to my hair about 10 years before I knew straighteners exist.

If your hair is long enough you can put an iron on a low setting and, especially if you have someone to help you, you can pull it straight and iron it. If your hair is short and very very curly, you can take a good conditioner and pull your hair straight with a brush and use a blow dryer. Ionic ones are good for the hair.

you can try a relaxer, which is available at most places like shopko, walmart, target, etc. otherwise, if you want to straighten your hair with a blow dryer, revlon has a brush which is like a pair of tongs with a very fine brush on each end. you clamp it on your hair and pull it through. it makes your hair taught, so your hair drys really straight. also, garnier fructis has a product called smoothing milk, which you can put on before blow drying to make hair straighter and less frizzy. it works really well. also try straighten up by john frieda or in control by salon selectives (its a purple gel which will hold your hair in place). put any on before blow drying and your work is much easier! otherwise, you could use sprays available at the stores above, which protect your hair from heat damage. blow drying your hair will take longer than straightening it, and will give it more volume, unless you use a diffuser on the end of your blow dryer. its up to you!
have fun trying out new things with your hair
and i recommend dove shampoo to repair hair if your hair gets very dry. :)
hope that helps!

well, if you have a curling iron, as ironic as it is running that down sections of your hair as you would a straightener works! Also, try blowing sections of it dry while brushing it and it should dry straighter than normal, but not as straight as it would if you used a straightener of course! Hmm you could also try using straightening gel available in the hair product isle of stores... other than that i dont really know.. sorry! hope this helped!

Okay, if you have a clothes iron... that works. But be very careful, you really need a friend to do it, or else the roots are wrinkly. Do it in sections, don't let the iron rest in one place. When you have ironed it all, brush your hair. This actually works better then a straightener, but its dangerous. Be careful.

Several salons sell straightening creams that you put on damp hair before you blow it dry. Paul Mitchell makes a good one called "Straight Works". Also, you may have your hair chemically straightened. Ask your salon if they have Rusk Anticurl...It's awesome!

Brusha nd blow dry at the same time. Or get one of those huge curling irons, they actaully straighten more than curl. Plus you get a nice curl at the ti[p of your hair.

you can either your a brush and blow dry it. Or you can buy a hot comb at sallys turn on the unit in your kitchen and then once it is hot (not 2 hot) you can run it through your but make sure you dont burn yourself. That is the best way I think. I hope you try it and it works.
