I'm writing an essay about this story that is based on one author do I still need to write the authors last name in the In-Text Citations.... like if I was citing a lot of authors I would write "blah blah blah" (Peter 25) and "blah blah blah" (John 78) but since I'm using only one author should I just put the page number? so it would be "blah blah blah" (17)

Hi. Use the author's name as well. You might refer to an outside source at some point and then you would have to go back and add the author's name to all the citations.

when you mention the author in a signal phrase you just but the page number in the parenthese. but if you dont mention the authors name you have to put it in parenthese with the page number.
