Hmm, all that death, misery, persecution.....oh no, sorry that's "regular" religion. Is this other guy responsible for death misery and persecution too?

Some people follow Satan for the same reason some people follow God, or Buddha, or no god at all. It's a personal set of beliefs and ideas that they choose to follow and believe is right for them.
There is no 'right' or 'wrong' religion, just as there is not one, singular, universal religion that every last human being could follow without doubt and believe whole heartedly in. Everyone is entitled to believe in what they want, regardless of how other people may feel about it. You may believe following Satan is wrong and will lead them to hell, but not everyone believes this and they are entitled to that. Religion is entirely personal. :)

Satan was once good, if you don't know. And, all religions considered, you don't really know if he's leading them to hell Maybe people follow him because they think he can be redeemed, or that a life with no morality to hold you back is better than a life enslaved to a deity you don't even know exists. If you actually read their rules, they don't go about slicing and dicing: They have rules such as "Don't kill except for food or defense" and "Be polite unless the other person is being rude". It is unwise to jump to conclusions, my friend.

he makes bad things look good, he opens up things to tempt you, he deceives you by making everything look lovely- look what happened in the garden of eden, he tempted Eve with the fruit, that Gos told her she may not eat of... the serpent told her it will make her have all knowledge and when she indeed took a bite, she realized she was naked, then gave it too her husband, then they were ashamed and hid so the father could not find them, it is in the first book of the bible, Genesis.
Satan is only to lie, cheat, destroy, and make you 'think' things are lovely when indeed they are not- be careful what doors you open, because satan is waiting on a small space so he can devour you.

1. Satan tells them the things they want to hear; there is no sin, there is no hell, etc.
2. Satan tells them that Satan does not exist and that probably God doesn't either so they can do what they want.

it's a cop out. the tenets of satanism encourage self-indulgent behavior. people think, "Great, I can screw around as much as i want in this life and then still get rewarded in the afterlife".

same reason people follow anything, whether it be the Catholic chruch, or christianity or the bible or toran or whatever.
They are looking outwards to find something ---- not realizing that everything we need is a part of us.....including God
Satan doesn't exist any more than any other external entity.....
