I have searched and can only find the original guidelines from this summer. I don't want to get anything taken away as I may not be able to buy what I use normally in Spain. We are traveling non-stop from Chicago to Madrid.

In the web site of the Airline you are going to travel there is the section for guidelines for packing

You can go to your airlines website - or you can go to
http://www.dhs.gov that is the website for the department of Homeland Security and they have a complete section dedicated to airline travel and what you can and cannot take on the aircraft with you.
